KENTUCKY (WOWK) – Residents along the Kentucky-Ohio border may have felt a brief rumble early this morning. The United States Geological Survey recorded a 2.2 magnitude earthquake in Lewis County, Kentucky.
According to the USGS, the quake struck just before 3 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, about 4.4 miles west-by-southwest of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

The survey reports that the earthquake occurred roughly nine kilometers, or 5.5 miles, beneath the surface.
