A newly built playground featuring climbing structures, swings, and slides is now open at Hounz Lane Park, adding fresh play space for families in east Louisville.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Families can now enjoy new play opportunities at one of Louisville’s most popular neighborhood parks.
Mayor Craig Greenberg joined Louisville Parks & Recreation and Councilman Markus Winkler to unveil the brand-new playground at Hounz Lane Park in east Louisville.
Located at 2300 Hounz Lane, the park offers an open lawn, creek access, tennis and pickleball courts, picnic shelters, and walking paths that wind through scenic green space.
“Investments like this are another way we continue to improve quality of life in every part of Louisville, including our east end neighborhoods,” said Mayor Greenberg. “This update makes Hounz Lane Park an even better place for kids and their peers to play, make memories, and enjoy fresh air together.”
The upgraded playground features interactive climbing structures, slides, swings, and play areas designed for children of various age groups. A new rock-climbing boulder, installed at the beginning of 2025, gives visitors another option to stay active and test their skills.
“Hounz Lane has long been a go-to spot for neighbors, from pickleball and picnics to peaceful creekside strolls,” said Louisville Parks and Recreation Executive Director Michelle King. “With this new playground, families have even more to look forward to, and we’re proud to continue strengthening the community spaces our residents value.”
The playground is officially open. Hounz Lane Park welcomes visitors daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
