LOUISVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — Firefighters in Jefferson County responded to a rescue call on Christmas Eve to save a dog that had fallen into a hole.
The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire District said its rescue teams received a “ruff call” Wednesday after a dog fell into an abandoned septic tank.
Crews from Engine 89, Engine 88, and Rescue 88 responded to Krages Avenue, near Pendleton Road off Dixie Highway.
When firefighters arrived, they found a small gray-and-white dog trapped at the bottom of a deep hole in the front yard of a home.
The team used a pulley system to lower a firefighter into the hole and safely pull the dog back to the surface.
The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire District said the dog was not injured.
