More than six million dollars will go toward improving local bridges across Kentucky. The funding comes from the state’s County and City Bridge Improvement Program and marks the fifth round of awards issued this year.

The money will support 10 bridge replacements and repairs for two additional bridges. These projects include structures in Ballard, Calloway, Crittenden, Fleming, Garrard, Graves, Green, Hickman, Livingston, and Trigg counties. The full list is available here.

The state has awarded roughly $40 million this year through the program. According to the state’s transportation cabinet, the initiative aims to help Kentuckians travel more safely and efficiently.
