Demolition of L Street bridge over 72nd set to begin in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) — The next phase of construction at the 72nd and L Street interchange will cause major traffic disruptions next week.

Starting November 13, 72nd Street will close in both directions as crews begin demolishing the L Street bridge. The road is expected to reopen by 6 a.m. on November 18.

Traffic on L Street between 78th and 67th will be reconfigured into a two-lane, two-way setup, which will remain in place through fall of next year.

The entire intersection is being rebuilt, with construction expected to continue until next fall.
