LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — HJI Supply Chain Solutions Inc. will close its Shepherdsville facility at 548 Cedar Grove Road by Dec. 31, resulting in 117 employees losing their jobs.
The company filed a WARN notice with the state, as required under federal law. Vice President of People Operations Rahima Avdic told Louisville Business First that the closure is tied to Ford Motor Co.’s retooling of the Louisville Assembly Plant.
The HJI facility assembled vehicle seats for Ford’s Escape SUV. Production is shifting to a new electric truck, prompting the Louisville Assembly Plant to wind down operations on the Escape in December.
Employees are being offered severance packages, and some are submitting transfer requests to other facilities. HJI expects the job separations to take place over a 14-day period starting Dec. 8.
