A man out running errands picked up a pair of Maryland Lottery tickets for his dad, which earned him a $100,000 jackpot.
The Washington father and son reported to Maryland Lottery officials that the younger man picked up the winning ticket while running errands. “My son was in the neighborhood while out running errands,” the parent explained. “He mentioned that he’d be picking up some lottery tickets and told me he’d pick one up for me.”
The son knew his father’s favorite game, Pick 5, and his preferred number combination, 15670. He purchased two identical tickets for his father at the 7-Eleven on Ruby Lockhart Boulevard in Bowie. I sometimes buy two tickets with the same numbers. It rarely works out for me, but it has in the past,” he explained.
The father received a total prize of $100,000 after winning $50,000 on each ticket. I was amazed. I’d won before, but never like this, never for the top prize… and now I had two of them,” the father added.
