A shooting occurred on September 27 at an “after-hours” location in Detroit, resulting in three deaths and four injuries, according to authorities.
A dispute broke out, an incident ensued, and as a result, somebody decided to settle it with gun violence,” Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison stated during a news conference on September 27. Authorities received a 911 call at 7:22 a.m. local time.
Bettison stated that the men that perished were 30 or older. Four more persons, two men and two women in their twenties and thirties, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Bettison stated that the address was known to the Detroit Police Department, which has received seven calls there this year. He stated that the department was also looking into the address. I’m told that was an after-hours location,” Bettison explained. “Imagine a strip club … and I’ll leave it at that.”
He also stated, “Regardless of what was going on in this particular location, no one deserves to have their life taken or to be injured by gunfire.” I have leads and will quickly identify those responsible for the horrible incident this morning.
He stated that there is no continuous threat to the public.
Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield described the shooting as “heartbreaking” and said the city will tighten down on unauthorized after-hours parties in homes and businesses.
