Another Illinois Lottery player is $700,000 richer after winning the Lucky Day Lotto jackpot.
According to the Illinois Lottery, the winning ticket was purchased at a recently reopened convenience shop in Cook County, which reopened three months ago under new ownership after being converted from a former pharmacy.
“We’ve updated the store, expanded our offerings, and now we’re welcoming more customers than ever,” Ben added.
The winning Lucky Day Lotto ticket was purchased from Franklin Food & Liquors, located at 9735 W. Franklin Ave. in Franklin Park. The ticket matched all five numbers—9, 13, 15, 16, and 37—to win the game’s jackpot in the evening drawing on Sunday, August 2.
Vicky, a 20-year volunteer at the store, sold the winning lottery ticket. Vicky sold the winning ticket and called to let me know,” Ben stated. “I feel so blessed that our store sold this winning ticket, and congratulations to the lucky winner.”
The Illinois Lottery will award Franklin Food & Liquors a $7,000 bonus, or 1% of the prize, for selling the winning ticket. The owner stated that the incentive will be used to fund future investments in the business and community.
“This prize will help us continue improving the store, expand our inventory, and better serve our customers and neighborhood,” he stated.
Lucky Day Lotto is a draw game that only runs in Illinois and has two drawings every day.
According to the Illinois Lottery, almost 7 million winning Lucky Day Lotto tickets were sold this year, with players statewide earning more than $41 million.
Players can look up winning numbers on the Illinois Lottery app or at IllinoisLottery.com. The Lucky Day Lotto winner has one year from the drawing date to redeem their prize. Officials with the Illinois Lottery encourage winners to sign the back of their tickets and keep them in a safe location until they are ready to claim them.
