Storms cause damage across the region

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Storms that moved through the region Monday night into Tuesday morning caused widespread damage, bringing heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds.

As the system passed through, multiple thunderstorm and tornado warnings were issued.

The National Weather Service offices in Paducah and Louisville reported several damage incidents across Kentucky, including:

Kentucky

  • April 27, 11:35 p.m. — Henderson: Trees down on Alves Street.
  • April 27, 11:41 p.m. — Near Spotsville: Trees down across a roadway.
  • April 27, 11:55 p.m. — Near Slaughters: Trees down along KY 370 at the Hopkins-Webster County line.
  • April 28, 12:13 a.m. — A building was damaged and a detached garage collapsed.
  • April 28, 12:14 a.m. — McLean County: A tree was blown over and multiple trees were down.
  • April 28, 12:14 a.m. — McLean County: Trees were uprooted north of Livermore along Highway 431.
  • April 28, 12:35 a.m. — Hartford: Power lines and trees were down on Crab Tree Alley and near Walnut and Clay Streets.
