Woman Dies After Motorcycle Strikes Rock Embankment on Interstate 64 in Bath County

A 60-year-old woman from Mount Sterling lost her life Sunday morning when her motorcycle veered off the road and hit a rock embankment on Interstate 64 in Bath County, Kentucky State Police reported.

State police reported that Barbara Smith was riding a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound near mile marker 119 when the crash happened around 11 a.m.

Bath County Coroner Andrew Owens declared Smith dead at the scene.

Bath County Fire and EMS and the Bath County Sheriff’s Department helped state police at the crash site. Trooper Tanner Tout continues to investigate the collision.
