Louisville — With less than a week remaining until Thunder Over Louisville, officials are alerting drivers and pedestrians about upcoming bridge closures across the city.
The Clark Memorial Bridge, also known as the 2nd Street Bridge, will close for several days starting Thursday, April 16. The closure begins at 9:30 a.m. and will remain in effect until Sunday at 2 p.m.
Access to the Big Four Bridge will also be restricted. The bridge will close on Friday, April 17, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for an air show practice. On Saturday, April 18, it will be shut down from 10 a.m. until midnight.
Officials are urging both drivers and pedestrians to plan alternate routes and expect significant traffic congestion throughout the weekend as the city prepares for the kickoff event of the Kentucky Derby Festival.
