One person died and another was injured following a crash near Lyndon, according to Louisville Metro Police.

LMPD responded to a crash report near Ormsby Lane and Westport Road around 10:12 p.m. on April 2, spokesperson Adam Sears said. When officers arrived, they found a single-vehicle crash involving a man and a woman, both injured.

A preliminary investigation shows the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Ormsby Lane when it left the roadway and struck a utility pole, Sears said.

Officers provided aid at the scene, and emergency crews transported both individuals to UofL Hospital. The man, whose identity has not been released, was later pronounced dead by medical staff.

The woman is receiving treatment for injuries that are not life-threatening.

LMPD’s Traffic Unit is handling the investigation.
