LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident in the Portland neighborhood on Sunday.

Louisville Metro Police responded to multiple calls around 7:54 p.m. reporting a pedestrian hit in the 2200 block of Cleveland Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from multiple injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

Police said initial information indicates the victim was hit by an unknown vehicle that fled immediately after the crash.

Detectives noted they have received conflicting descriptions of the suspect vehicle and are working to confirm witness accounts.
