Pickup driver dies after crash on Dixie Highway in Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A driver died following a crash Thursday morning on Dixie Highway in Louisville.

Louisville Metro Police Department officers responded to a vehicle collision around 7:40 a.m. at Dixie Highway and Trent Avenue, according to a news release.

Investigators said the driver of a Ford pickup truck rear-ended a utility bucket truck while both vehicles were traveling southbound on Dixie Highway at the traffic light at Trent Avenue.

Officials transported the pickup driver to UofL Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The LMPD Traffic Unit is continuing to investigate the crash.
