The project will start over Middle Creek just before Budd Road.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — State Road 111 serves as a key route for many residents in Floyd and Harrison Counties, as well as for those traveling to and from Caesars Southern Indiana casino.

Crews will begin a $1.3 million bridge reconstruction project on State Road 111 over Middle Creek, just before Budd Road, starting April 6.

During construction, the roadway will remain open with only one lane, and crews will control traffic using temporary signals.

Drivers who regularly use State Road 111 said they are not looking forward to the disruption.

“That is ridiculous, it’s gonna back up traffic and it’s gonna be a nightmare and wow is about all I can say, is wow,” said Renee Thornton, who travels State Road 111.

Officials expect to finish the project by late July.

INDOT advises drivers to slow down and use caution while traveling through the area.
