Travelers across the Ohio Valley can expect mild and mostly dry conditions during the peak spring break period from March 24–30.
According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, temperatures across Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio will run 30% to 50% above normal. Rainfall is expected to stay near average but limited in coverage, allowing for extended periods of sunshine.
Cities including Indianapolis, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Columbus are forecast to see daytime highs in the mid-60s to low 70s, with morning lows in the 40s and 50s.
Major travel routes such as Interstate 65, Interstate 70, Interstate 71, and Interstate 75 are expected to remain mostly dry, supporting smooth travel conditions throughout the region.
Drivers should still watch for patchy morning fog, especially near the Ohio River and in low-lying rural areas, though widespread travel hazards are not anticipated.
The warm, stable pattern should also benefit outdoor activities, including early-season baseball, with comfortable temperatures expected across the region.
Forecasters say these springlike conditions are likely to continue through late March, with only minor changes possible heading into early April.
