Central Kentuckians woke up to a brief round of snowfall Sunday morning, but it’s not expected to linger.
The National Weather Service office in Louisville said the Bluegrass region could pick up a light “dusting” early Sunday, with little to no accumulation overall.
“Visibilities will drop as this shower passes and may bring a quick, thin dusting of snowfall,” the weather service said on social media.
Forecasters expect around a trace to 0.5 inches of snow in the area. However, other parts of the state could experience snow squalls, which are marked by sudden bursts of heavy snow, strong winds and sharp drops in visibility.
Cold air will remain in place through Monday morning. Wind gusts could reach up to 35 mph, making temperatures feel even colder, the weather service said.
