New Albany city officials said they were notified of the week-long plan by Clarksville leaders to help keep residents informed.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Clark County will begin a wildlife reduction operation at Origin Park starting tomorrow, February 23.

According to a press release from the office of Jeff Gahan, the City of New Albany, along with nearby public safety agencies and police departments, was informed that Clarksville officials plan to reduce wildlife at Origin Park in Clark County.

The mayor’s office said the operation will involve the shooting and removal of deer during overnight hours from Monday, Feb. 23, through Friday, Feb. 27.

New Albany City Government was also advised that residents may hear suppressed gunfire during those dates and that deer and their remains will be processed on site at Origin Park.

Clarksville officials noted that Emery Crossing and McCollough Pike could close during the operation for safety reasons.

Mayor Gahan said, “Out of concern for the public as well as the wildlife population, we want the public to be informed about this activity and gunfire in Origin Park in Clark County.”
