CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) — Troopers with Kentucky State Police Post 2 ramped up enforcement during Super Bowl weekend, issuing hundreds of citations and making multiple arrests.
Troopers handed out 232 citations, arrested eight impaired drivers, made nine drug-related arrests, served 14 warrants, and responded to 38 calls for service, along with carrying out other enforcement actions.
On Feb. 8, troopers also set up a traffic safety checkpoint on Kentucky 115 near the state line in Christian County.
During the checkpoint, officers inspected about 65 vehicles and issued 23 charges or offenses. Officials said four of those charges were drug-related, and troopers investigated and arrested four impaired drivers.
Assisting agencies issued additional citations and arrested two impaired drivers during the checkpoint.
