LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Drivers should prepare for additional overnight closures on Interstate 264, also known as the Watterson Expressway, this week.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the eastbound left lane of I-264 will close starting at 8 p.m. Monday and remain closed until 6 a.m. Tuesday. The closure will extend from the Watterson Expressway and I-71 split to Brownsboro Road.

Traffic officials said the lane closure will allow contract crews to deliver materials.

Beginning Wednesday at 8 p.m., the eastbound off-ramp at Exit 22 will close until 6 a.m. Thursday. Crews will use that time to install a waterline, officials said.

KYTC said the closures are part of the ongoing widening and improvement project for the Watterson Expressway and Brownsboro Road. The project is expected to be completed in fall 2027.
