The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is hosting a public meeting to gather community feedback on traffic safety and operational concerns in the Portland and Shawnee neighborhoods.

The meeting is part of the Northwestern Louisville Community Connection Study, which identified the need for improvements along three major streets.

Roadways under discussion include Bank Street, Portland Avenue, and the Northwestern Parkway corridors from 15th Street to the Shawnee Park Golf Course.

According to officials, the study aims to identify improvements that will enhance safe mobility for all users while maintaining key community connections, including access to the I-264 interchange at Bank Street and the I-64 interchange at 22nd Street.

The meeting is set for Thursday, Nov. 20, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Lehmann Hall at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, located at 3511 Rudd Avenue.

Community members are encouraged to attend, learn more about the study, and share their input.

An online survey will be available after the meeting to collect additional public feedback.
