A Maryland man was sentenced to ten years in prison for a shooting at a Washington, D.C. nightclub in November 2025, injuring five people.
Langston Wedge, 20, of Upper Marlboro, pled guilty in April to two charges of aggravated assault and handgun possession following a shooting at Northeast’s Power Nightclub, according to court records.
On Thursday, a judge sentenced Wedge to serve five years of probation after being released from prison. The court refused Wedge’s plea for a sentence under the Youth Rehabilitation Act.
According to court documents, Wedge was with a group of friends early on November 2, 2025, when he got into a confrontation with others outside the nightclub at 2335 Bladensburg Road, Northeast.
The club was packed with attendees for a Halloween-themed costume party, with some spilling out onto the sidewalk in front.
According to court filings, Wedge began shooting into the gathering at 1:47 a.m., causing scared guests to flee for safety.
During the incident, bullets struck five persons and a vehicle. One individual was shot in the leg. Court officials reported that a second person who was shot in the back and upper arm is still in pain and discomfort as a result of the injury.
Two victims were shot in the thigh, while another was hit in the right side of his chest and spent three days in the intensive care unit with a ruptured lung, according to court records.
On November 17, 2025, Prince George’s County police detained Wedge after discovering he was in possession of a Glock 26. According to court filings, the pistol was a 9mm with a magazine capable of holding 30 rounds of ammo. Evidence suggested that it was used in the nightclub shooting two weeks prior.
Wedge has been in detention in Washington, DC, since December 2025, according to court officials.
