An Augusta mom is arrested after her sons were discovered in a home with unlivable conditions, according to authorities.
Mikayla Kennedy White was arrested on Tuesday, according to Richmond County jail booking records.
According to an incident report, deputies rushed to Cornell Drive after discovering two children wandering alone toward Olive Road.
According to the complaint, White left the children with her brother at her Vanderbilt Circle house while she went to a local hospital.
When White returned, deputies discovered a third child asleep inside the house, according to the report.
A search was then conducted, which revealed the unclean living conditions in the home.
Deputies say they discovered no active electricity service in the home, a red bucket being used as a toilet, soiled clothing and trash littered with excrement throughout the home, maggots inside the refrigerator and throughout the home, no bedding for the children and the elderly, and bugs in the kitchen.
White was arrested and booked at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center.
She faces three counts of deprivation of a minor.
