A gunshot inside a home in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood killed two people on Thursday night, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around 10:43 p.m. in the 800 block of North Parkside Avenue.
A witness reported hearing gunshots from a basement and phoned police.
According to investigators, a known suspect shot both a 47-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man. Both victims were taken to the hospital and pronounced dead, according to police.
The man was recognized as Deangelo Johnson of Chicago. He resided on the same block where the shooting happened.
A suspect was arrested, and charges are pending, according to police.
