A Maryland Lottery player won a $4.2 million Multi-Match jackpot on Monday night, capping a jackpot run that had lasted since April.
The winning ticket for the August 31 drawing was sold at Town Centre Market, 4705 Queensbury Road, Riverdale. The winning numbers were 1, 4, 18, 35, 41, and 42. The retailer in Prince George’s County will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
The winner has the option of receiving a $4.2 million annuity in 25 equal annual instalments or a one-time cash payment of around $2.2 million before taxes.
According to the Maryland Lottery, this is the highest Multi-Match jackpot since May 2022, when a Westminster man won $5.1 million. The jackpot was last struck on April 16, when a father from Ellicott City earned $570,000.
Another 56,762 tickets won prizes ranging from $2 to $1,000 in Monday’s drawing, including 39 $1,000 tickets. The Multi-Match jackpot is reset to $500,000 for Thursday’s drawing.
