A woman from Northeast DC is charged with second-degree murder after police discovered a man dead in a residence.
On August 16, officers responded to the 200 block of K Street Northeast after receiving a complaint of an unconscious person.
The Metropolitan Police Department stated that when police arrived, they discovered an adult male with apparent injuries who was unconscious and not breathing inside an apartment. “DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and found no signs consistent with life and pronounced the victim dead.”
The victim, an 81-year-old man named John Wesley Knight, was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy.
Meanwhile, MPD stated that there was probable cause to arrest 63-year-old Sherry Lou Sanders and charge her with Second Degree Murder. MPD stated that the matter is domestic.
