They say good things come to those who wait. For a Massachusetts man, that nice thing was a million dollars.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Richard Mulombre of Marblehead won a $1 million prize on a Powerball ticket purchased in Massachusetts for the game’s multi-state drawing on Saturday, July 18th, which had a $526.4 million jackpot.
Mulombre won the prize because the first five numbers on his Quic Pic ticket matched those chosen in the drawing. He claimed his $1 million win (before taxes) on Thursday, July 23rd, at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Dorchester headquarters. He stated that he intends to put the winnings towards retirement.
His winning ticket was acquired at Quisqueya Food Mart, 34 Union St, Lynn, while he was waiting with his kids for a pizza order nearby. The retailer receives a $10,000 bonus for selling this ticket.
