Connecticut Lottery player wins $1M from $20 scratch-off ticket

A Connecticut Lottery player won $1 million on Monday.

The player from Pomfret Center won $1 million in the $1,000,000 Gold scratch-off game. The winning Connecticut Lottery ticket was purchased from Brooklyn Xtra Mart, which is located at 409 Providence Road in Brooklyn.

The Pomfret Center resident’s million-dollar win is the highest claimed by a Connecticut Lottery player this month.

According to the Connecticut Lottery’s website, the player’s chances of winning the top prize of $1 million were 1 in 640,000.

The Connecticut Lottery will introduce the scratch game $1,000,000 Gold in 2024, according to the game’s description. One ticket costs $20, with prizes ranging from $20 to $1 million.

To play $1,000,000 Gold, players must match any of their numbers to any of the winning numbers to receive the reward listed below the matching numbers. If players reveal a stack of coins symbol, they will receive twice the prize listed below it. If a bill stack symbol appears, players win five times the prize displayed underneath it. For a pot of gold symbol, players get ten times the prize listed below it.
