Man sentenced to prison after road rage leads to shots fired

A man has received his punishment after road rage resulted in shots being fired.

Jamir Smith was sentenced to 180 days in jail and a year in prison, according to court records.

Smith pled guilty to possessing guns while disabled and discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises.

As previously reported by News Center 7, deputies were dispatched to the neighborhood of North Dixie Drive and Harding Avenue on April 22 after receiving reports of a person firing a gun.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports that authorities swiftly identified and located both automobiles involved.

Nobody was wounded in the shooting.
