Police: Man Accidentally Shoots Himself After Shooting Another Man In Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh police have filed charges following a shooting on Tuesday.

According to the criminal complaint, officers responded to the 1700 block of Belleau Drive at 3:04 p.m. after receiving a ShotSpotter alarm. When authorities arrived, they discovered a man on the ground who had been shot in the left thigh.

Police assisted the man until doctors brought him to a nearby hospital.

Around the same time, a homeowner on Letsche Street reported seeing a man rushing in the vicinity and hearing a “pop.” She added that a gun slipped from the man’s pants and he began to run with a limp.

Officers found 21-year-old Michael Hall, who had been wounded in the crotch, near the intersection of Federal Street and Perrysville Avenue. He was also sent to a local hospital.

Police later spoke with the first man, who stated that he and Hall had an argument that morning. They ran into each other later that day, when Hall allegedly shot him.

Police believe security footage shows Hall shooting the other man. While fleeing, he allegedly throws a gun on the ground and checks his crotch area before being picked up by an ambulance.

According to online court documents, Hall is accused with aggravated assault and recklessly harming another person.
