5 Teenagers Taken Into Custody in Birmingham Shooting investigation

Five teenagers have been arrested in connection with a Birmingham shooting investigation, according to police.

The Birmingham Police Department said five young men were taken into custody after they allegedly tried to flee authorities on Thursday, May 28 — the same day a shooting occurred in the 3200 block of Aspen Avenue in west Birmingham.

Police say the men listed below were taken into custody and charged with the following:

  • 16-year-old juvenile
    • Assault 1st degree x2
    • Discharging firearm into occupied dwelling
    • Discharging firearm into unoccupied vehicle x3
  • 18-year-old Cameron Arnold
    • Assault 1st degree x2
    • Discharging firearm into occupied dwellinbg
    • Discharging firearm into unoccupied vehicle x3
  • 19-year-old Kameron Levert
    • Assault 1st degree
    • Discharging firearm into occupied dwelling
    • Discharging firearm into unoccupied vehicle x3
  • 19-year-old Lequent Mack
    • Assault 1st degree
    • Discharging firearm into occupied dwelling
    • Discharging firearm into unoccupied vehicle x3
  • 19-year-old Cor’darryl Strother
    • Assault 1st degree x2
    • Discharging firearm into occupied dwelling
    • Discharging firearm into unoccupied vehicle x3

Police say additional charges are forthcoming and that all suspects will be taken to the Jefferson County Jail.

According to police, Mack is still hospitalized. His mugshot was not immediately avaliable. Neither was Arnold’s.
