UPDATE: The statewide search for a missing Miami teenager has yielded encouraging results. Authorities reported today that the Florida Missing Child Alert issued for 14-year-old Kamiya Richardson has been discontinued after the girl was discovered safe and unhurt.
The warning was first raised on May 9, 2026, when Kamiya vanished from the 1000 block of Northeast 167th Street.
The Miami-Dade School Police Department and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement have spent the last 24 hours distributing her description and photo, imploring the public to assist in locating the adolescent, who was last seen wearing a black hoodie and khaki slacks.
Investigators verified in a quick report that the search had been successful. “The Florida Missing Child Alert for Kamiya Richardson, which was activated on 05/09/2026, has been cancelled. “The child is safe,” the agency said.

As the search for the missing child increases, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement has issued an official Missing Child Alert on behalf of the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department.
Kamiya Richardson, 14, was last seen on the 1000 block of Northeast 167th Street. Officials describe her as a black female at 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing around 162 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.
Kamiya was wearing khaki leggings and a black pullover hoodie with white lettering across the front when she went missing. Investigators have yet to share information about the circumstances surrounding her abduction or her likely destination.
Law enforcement officials are requesting anyone who has seen her or knows where she is to come forward immediately.
“If you have any information on the whereabouts of this child, please contact the Miami-Dade School Police Department at 305-995-2677 or 911,” the notice said.
The search is still ongoing, and nearby neighbors are requested to keep an eye out for her and share her description to help ensure her safe return.
