A relatively new scratch ticket game from the Massachusetts State Lottery had its first large grand prize winner.
The Massachusetts State Lottery announced that the 1887 Trust of Boston won the first $1 million instant grand prize in the Loteria™ $5 instant ticket game.
The trust, represented by trustee Robert Bannish, chose to receive its award in the form of a single payment of $650,000 (before taxes). Bannish was accompanied by fellow trustee Sarah Allen in accepting the honor.
The winning ticket was purchased at Appletown Market, 9 Main St., Sterling. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling this ticket.
