Glasgow woman arrested after allegedly breaking into a storage unit

GLASGOW, Ky. – A woman from Glasgow is facing criminal charges after breaking into a storage unit.

According to a press release, a Glasgow Police Department officer was on patrol on May 4 when they saw a woman removing items from a storage unit on Kentucky Street.

The officer reported that the lock on the unit had been cut.

During the investigation, the officer identified the suspect as 33-year-old Megan Thomas of Glasgow.

Authorities say Thomas had taken items from the unit and was also found with suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Police arrested Thomas and charged her with third-degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking or disposition of property valued between $1,000 and $10,000, possession of burglary tools, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree possession of a controlled substance, and third-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Officials lodged Thomas at the Barren County Detention Center.

The investigation remains ongoing.
