LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man accused of kidnapping a Louisville woman and her children and forcing them to drive to a bank for a robbery is now facing an additional charge while behind bars.
Armond Langford was involved in a physical altercation with another inmate on April 15 and has since been charged with assault.
According to the citation, Langford had been involved in a prior altercation before the incident that led to the new charge and had already been warned that fighting would result in additional charges.
This is not the first time Langford has faced new charges while incarcerated following his August 2025 arrest. In December 2025, he was charged with criminal mischief after jail officials reported that he threw his inmate tablet around his cell, breaking the screen and damaging the case.
In 2021, Langford was sentenced to 14 years in prison for a series of robberies but was released on shock probation after serving five months.
During a hearing in March, Langford was found “currently incompetent” to stand trial and was ordered to undergo 60 days of treatment at KCPC.
He is scheduled to return to court for a new competency hearing on May 28.
