A 15-year-old boy who was the subject of an AMBER Alert has been located safe in South Carolina, and the suspect arrested, according to the New Bern Police Department.
Police claimed Isaiah Owens was found in Marion, South Carolina, along with his brother, Kenneth Brantley Jr. The two were discovered alongside Kenneth Lee Brantley Sr.
Officers in South Carolina apprehended Brantley. The New Bern Police Department stated that he will be extradited to North Carolina for arrest and a court appearance.
The AMBER Alert was issued Saturday after police reported that Isaiah was kidnapped at gunpoint from a room at the Palace Motel on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at 3:15 a.m.
According to authorities, Brantley allegedly pointed a gun at another adult in the room before removing Isaiah and Kenneth Brantley Jr. and departing in a black 2012 GMC Yukon Denali XL.
New Bern police had acquired arrest warrants accusing Brantley of abducting and endangering Isaiah Owens. The New Bern Police Department thanks everyone who helped with this investigation and contributed to the timely recovery of the missing kid and suspect,” the department said in a statement.
