Husband of Gospel Icon Files for Divorce Following Past Infidelity Drama

It appears the marriage between Mary Mary singer Tina Campbell and her husband, Glendon “Teddy” Campbell, has come to an end. After more than a decade together, the gospel star and her husband are parting ways, with Teddy filing for divorce and citing irreconcilable differences.

According to TMZ, Teddy submitted the divorce filing on April 13 in Los Angeles. The couple married in 2000 and, based on the documents, have been separated since 2024.

Teddy, who has worked with Jimmy Kimmel’s band, shares two minor children with Tina. He has requested the court to establish visitation and asked that any matters related to spousal support be addressed at a later time. He also indicated that there are no separate or community property issues requiring division, which could simplify the process.

Tina and her sister and bandmate, Erica Campbell—who is married to producer and writer-turned-pastor Warren Campbell—previously starred in a reality series on We TV that ran for several seasons. The show highlighted Tina and Teddy’s marital struggles, with his infidelity becoming a central storyline. It was later revealed that he had multiple affairs during their marriage, including relationships with her friends.

He often expressed frustration over Tina’s career commitments. In a 2015 interview on The Steve Harvey Show, as reported by theGrio, Tina shared that a close friend advised her to reconsider putting her career on hold and relying solely on her marriage for happiness after she stepped back from touring to satisfy her husband.

“Someone who knows me very well was watching the show, and I was always saying, ‘I could leave all of this. I could just go and be with my husband. I don’t need none of this. It’s just me and Teddy and they can have this.’ She was like, ‘Listen, I hate to have to say this to you, but I followed the information that I found out for six months to make sure that it was true because I don’t want to break your heart, but don’t stop doing what you’re doing because you may need to take care of you and your kids,’” she remembered.

Tina said she confronted her husband over the phone about what she had learned, but Teddy denied it until she insisted he call the woman involved. It was later confirmed that the woman was one of those he had an affair with.

“She had access to my home, to come get my kids, all of that stuff. She was in the mix of our family. I called, and she didn’t answer her phone. When we got home on Super Bowl Sunday, I [told Teddy] ‘Come upstairs.’ I said ‘Are you having an affair with her?’ He said ‘No.’ I said ‘Call her,’ and so he did. I said, ‘Are you sleeping with my husband?’ And she hung up the phone, so I had my answer,” she recalled.

The couple eventually reconciled after a period of separation, but their reality series ended not long after.
