LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Two suspects are facing multiple charges following a robbery that led to a police pursuit from southern Indiana into Louisville.

According to Clarksville Police, Jalisa Box and Shannon Pruitt have been charged with robbery and felony theft.

Officers were initially dispatched Monday to JCPenney at Greentree Mall for a reported shoplifting incident. While en route, police learned the suspects had allegedly assaulted loss prevention staff while fleeing the store.

Authorities estimate the stolen merchandise to be worth around $1,000.

An officer soon located the suspect vehicle, and police say Box fled through downtown New Albany before crossing the Sherman Minton Bridge into Louisville’s Portland neighborhood.

Police continued the pursuit until the vehicle stopped near 33rd and Bank Street.

Box and Pruitt were taken into custody without further incident.

In addition to robbery and felony theft, both face charges including resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, criminal recklessness, battery, reckless driving, and possession of paraphernalia.

They are currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center awaiting arraignment.
