LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville woman scored a major win while playing an online lottery game.

Kentucky Lottery officials said she won $900,392 playing the online instant game Bank Boost!

“I told myself, okay, I’ll just wager a dollar on this one since it’s new,” the woman said.

She said she was stunned by what happened next.

“It started spinning, spinning and then that big square popped up. I had read the rules, so I knew something big was happening. Then I saw the gray disk that said ‘Jackpot’ and I just watched the numbers climb. It took about a minute for it to stop spinning. It was a fun minute but a hot minute, too,” she said.

The woman said she needed about 30 minutes to calm down before sharing the news with her husband.

“I couldn’t believe it. This is life-changing,” she said.

She claimed the prize a few days later, receiving about $650,000 after taxes.

“I was nervous that if I didn’t go ahead and claim it, I was going to get hit by a bus and nobody was getting the money,” she said.

She told lottery officials she plans to pay off her debts and retire in two years, as originally planned.
