Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a 13-year-old was shot multiple times in the Smoketown neighborhood.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Police arrested an 18-year-old and a 13-year-old in connection with a shooting in Louisville’s Smoketown neighborhood, according to LMPD.

Officers responded to a shooting call around 4:12 p.m. in the 900 block of South Shelby Street on Friday, March 20.

At the scene, officers found a 13-year-old victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. First responders provided medical aid until EMS arrived and transported the victim to UofL Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

On Tuesday, March 24, LMPD’s Non-Fatal Shooting Unit arrested 18-year-old Chrishau’d Davis and a 13-year-old suspect.

According to the arrest citation, Davis and the juvenile were involved in a fight with the 13-year-old victim on March 20. During the altercation, Davis allegedly struck the victim multiple times in the head with a gun before both suspects ran out of view of surveillance cameras.

Shortly after, they returned to the scene where their belongings were left on the ground. The citation states Davis retrieved a gun from his jacket and handed it to the juvenile, who then allegedly fired multiple shots at the victim.

Police said surveillance footage captured Davis yelling, “Kill him,” during the shooting before both suspects fled.

Authorities charged Davis with attempted murder, first-degree assault (complicity), and second-degree assault (complicity).

The juvenile faces charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault, and second-degree assault (complicity).

Davis is scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on Wednesday, March 25.

The investigation remains ongoing.
