Louisville — A family-owned discount retailer is expanding across the river, with a second location set to open soon in Jeffersonville.
Borden Bargains, owned by Shane Foster, plans to open its new store in April at 1414 E. 10th St., taking over the former TC’s Bin Store location.
Foster said he will lease the 15,000-square-foot space for $4,000 per month and handle renovations himself as he prepares for opening.
The business operates by purchasing truckloads of overstock merchandise through a broker and selling the items directly to customers — a model it has followed since launching its first location in 2024.
Shoppers can expect a variety of new products, including clothing, games, and small appliances. Items are placed in bins and priced starting at $10, with prices dropping each day to as low as $1.
“People will find that it’ll get down to just a dollar,” Foster said. “There’s hardly any labor involved… all you gotta do is dump it in there and go.”
Higher-value items are typically sold at about half price, and customers can also buy “mystery pallets” for a fixed cost.
Foster confirmed the first shipment of inventory has already arrived as preparations continue for the Jeffersonville opening. The store is expected to operate Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
He added that supporting the local community remains a key priority as the business grows.
“There’s a lot of people in Jeffersonville that need help,” Foster said. “I just give them everything I can.”
