LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville judge sentenced the former director of Louisville’s youth detention center after she crashed a city-owned car and left the scene.
On Thursday morning, the judge sentenced Toni Rice to five years of probation.
She pleaded guilty in January to several charges, including failure to stop and render aid, tampering with evidence, tampering with a witness, intimidation, and official misconduct. Court documents also state that she must pay $21,000 in restitution.
In July 2024, authorities found her crashed city vehicle in a ditch off Brownsboro Road.
Rice attempted to persuade others to lie about the incident before resigning about a month later on Aug. 20.
