The Oldham County Board of Education has approved a pay raise for teachers and staff.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — During Monday’s meeting, the board approved a 3% raise for the 2026-27 school year. Members also voted to provide a $5,000 stipend to full-time employees and a $2,500 stipend to part-time employees. The district said it will distribute the stipends in November.

This marks the fifth consecutive year that the district has increased pay for teachers and staff.

“It’s a way for us to show our appreciation for the teachers in our district and everyone who works for us and it’s definitely a recruitment tool and also for staff retention,” Adam Springer, D-3, said during Monday’s board meeting.

The district said it can fund the raises through carryover money generated by conservative spending and lower-than-expected expenses.

In a release, the board added that the raises both recognize employees’ work and help recruit and retain qualified staff.
