A massive fire at the 310 @ NuLu apartments in 2024 displaced dozens of residents. Two years later, several have filed a lawsuit.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Several residents have filed a lawsuit against property owners years after a devastating fire tore through an apartment complex in NuLu.
In February 2024, a massive blaze displaced 60 residents at the 310 @ NuLu complex on South Hancock Street. Officials declared the building a total loss, and crews later demolished it.
On Feb. 5, eleven former tenants filed a new lawsuit naming 310 NULU Partners and Buckingham Management. The suit accuses the companies of gross negligence and breach of contract.
The complaint alleges the companies failed to “implement and enforce basic fire-safety measures” and did not comply with building safety codes.
It further claims the alleged negligence “created and maintained a dangerous condition and unreasonable risk of fire and smoke-related harm.”
According to the filing, the tenants are seeking compensatory damages, costs, interest and any other relief permitted under the law.
