Death Investigation Underway After Boy Found Shot at East Louisville Park

Louisville — A juvenile boy has died after a reported shooting Monday evening at a park in east Louisville, according to police.

A MetroSafe supervisor said officers were called around 7:35 p.m. to the 600 block of Gatehouse Lane in Douglass Hills, near Blankenbaker Parkway and Finchley Road, on a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived at Warren Walker Park, they found a male juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound at the park’s gazebo, said Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Aaron Ellis.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. LMPD’s Homicide Unit is conducting a death investigation.

No additional details were immediately released.
