The school’s principal sent a letter home to parents last week after inaccurate claims began circulating online.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) is investigating an incident involving students at a Louisville elementary school.
Samantha Miller, principal of Lincoln Elementary Performing Arts School, sent a letter to parents and families on Feb. 4 addressing the situation.
In the letter, Miller said security cameras recorded students engaging in inappropriate behavior during wellness time last month. She noted that the school notified the JCPS Police Department and Child Protective Services and that the district is following up with the parents of the students involved.
Miller said the school would normally handle the matter directly with the students and families concerned, but chose to share information after inaccurate claims began spreading online.

February 4, 2026
Dear Lincoln Elementary Performing Arts School Families,
I am writing to inform you of a sensitive issue that occurred recently at our school. We would prefer to address this issue directly with the students and families involved. However, we’re also aware of inaccurate claims being shared online, and I want to ensure our families have accurate information.
Last month, our security cameras captured students engaging in inappropriate behavior during wellness time. Since discovering this incident, we have involved the JCPS Police Department, JCPS Compliance and Investigations, and Child Protective Services. The District is following up with the parents and guardians of all students involved.
We are carefully reviewing this incident and ensuring that all necessary steps are being taken to both address the situation and ensure the continued safety of all students.
We appreciate your continued support of LPAS, and thank you for your respect and sensitivity on this matter.
Sincerely,
Samantha Miller
Principal
