A southern Indiana restaurant that opened just five months ago has temporarily closed due to a plumbing problem.

By Golly’s, located at 941 E. Lewis & Clark Parkway in Clarksville, closed on Feb. 1 and has remained shut while the issue is addressed, according to Louisville Business First.

A broken waste line caused a sewer smell to spread through the restaurant whenever customers used the bathrooms.

“It was affecting our business, and the decrease in traffic was impacting our wait staff,” Lance Sizemore, CEO of Epic Eeats, the restaurant’s parent company, told LBF. “We’ve been back and forth with the landlord about it. So, we decided to close so we can fix it.”

Sizemore said there is currently no timeline for reopening, but the company is actively working to resolve the plumbing problem.

By Golly’s opened in September 2025 in the former Hooters building and employs about 75 people. The restaurant is known for its burgers, hoagies, flatbreads, and appetizers such as wings and loaded nachos.
