LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Louisville Water Company crews are repairing a break in a six-inch water main near 22nd Street and Portland Avenue, leaving several dozen customers in the area without water.
A company spokesperson said there is no estimate yet for how long the repairs will take.
The spokesperson also noted an increase in water main breaks over the past week as temperatures remain near freezing. While cold air makes repair work more difficult, they explained that drinking water issues are often caused by temperature differences, as cold water moving through warm ground can lead to breaks.
