LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man appeared in court Thursday morning, accused of stealing a vehicle and injuring multiple people.

According to an arrest report, Bryson Holland jumped into the driver’s seat of a car while a woman was placing groceries in her trunk Thursday at the Kroger on West Broadway. Police said the woman climbed into the passenger seat in an attempt to stop him, but he pushed her out of the vehicle and struck another car parked behind them.

Holland is also accused of hitting a witness who tried to block his escape, sending her to the hospital with injuries.

Police said officers were able to track Holland down because the victim’s cellphone remained inside the vehicle.

Holland was arrested and charged with assault and robbery. He pleaded not guilty during his arraignment Thursday morning, where a judge set his bond at $50,000 cash.
